Last updated 9 August 2026. This page says what we hold about you, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it. It is written to the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the General Application and Implementation Directive 2025.
The short version
We hold your name, your phone number and the record of what you contributed. We use them to run the contribution you joined and to send you a receipt. We do not sell anything about you. We never hold your money — it goes straight into the goal's own bank account. You can take a copy of everything we hold, or ask us to erase it, from inside the app.
Who we are
Korevra Technologies Limited is the data controller. 12B Sule Abore Street, Ojodu, Lagos, Nigeria. Write to hello@korevra.com or call +234 810 514 0506.
What we hold, and why
| What | Why we need it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your name | To put you on the roll call, so the group can see you paid | Performance of the contribution you joined |
| Your phone number | To send you a receipt, and reminders if you agreed to them | Consent, which you can withdraw |
| Your email, if you give one | To send you a receipt you can keep | Consent |
| What you contributed, and when | The ledger. It is the product. | Legal obligation, financial records |
| A goal's bank account, if you organise one | The bank, account number and account name you give, shown to members when they pay, so they know where the money goes | Performance of the goal you opened |
| A transfer you mark as sent | Your reference, the amount, and the name on the account you sent from if you give it, so the people who run the goal can find your payment on its statement | Performance, and prevention of fraud |
| Any document you upload to verify a goal | To check a goal is what it says it is before money moves | Legal obligation, anti money laundering |
What we never do
- We do not sell your data, and we do not rent it.
- We do not take card payments. The card screens are demonstrations, and nothing typed on them is kept or sent.
- We do not hold your money. Contributions go straight into the bank account the organiser names for the goal.
- We do not message a person who never agreed to be messaged.
- We do not put your amount in front of the group when the organiser chose names-only privacy.
Who else sees it
The other members of your goal see your name on the roll call, and your amount when the organiser chose to show amounts. You can give anonymously; the ledger still records it, but the roll call shows "Anonymous".
The people who run your goal also see your reference, and the name on the account you sent from if you give it, so that they can find your transfer on the goal account's statement. Beyond that, only Google, whose infrastructure runs the service, and which is bound by contract to use the data only to provide it. We will disclose data to a regulator or a court when the law requires it, and we will tell you unless we are forbidden to.
How long we keep it
| What | How long | Why that long |
|---|---|---|
| Ledger entries and receipts | Seven years after the goal closes | They are financial records and the law requires it |
| Your phone number and contact details | Until you ask us to remove them | No reason to keep them after that |
| Identity documents, if you sent any | Five years after the last goal | Anti money laundering rules |
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may:
- See it. Open the app, go to Me, and choose "Download everything I have".
- Correct it. Change your name on any goal, or write to us.
- Erase it. Open the app, go to Me, and choose to be forgotten. We remove your contact details and your name from rolls you have not paid into, within thirty days. Ledger entries stay for seven years because they are financial records, but your name in them is replaced by your reference.
- Withdraw consent. Reminders stop the moment you say stop, and there is no cost to you.
- Object, and complain. Write to us first. If we do not put it right, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Where the data lives
On Google Cloud infrastructure in Europe. Nigeria has no adequacy decision covering that transfer, so it is made under standard contractual clauses, and the data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Children
Gbam is for people aged eighteen and over. We do not knowingly hold data about a child. If you believe we do, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change how we use your data in a way that matters, we will tell you before it takes effect, not after. The date at the top of this page is the date it last changed.
